In our current day and age, we have come a long way from the mistakes of our past. There is no clearer example of this than e-juice in Canada, which has come to replace cigarettes in many ways. But, it is not e-juice alone that has paved the way for a smoke-free future.
Indeed, this is a clear example of where the federal government’s influence has produced long-lasting, clear and substantial benefits. Although it followed the typical public outcry initially, people began to take smoking legislation more seriously when advertising and displays were banned. In recent years, we have seen the banning of flavoured products, then switch to plain packaging and steadily increasing taxes on this dangerous and harmful product.
But, in spite of all the clear indications we have now about the harmful effects of cigarettes, they were popular for a very long time. Why is this? The nicotine, of course. Today, we understand the addictive nature of nicotine and put in much smaller amounts for Canadian e-juice products. How much smaller? Continue below to find out!
Cigarettes: How Much Nicotine?
The amount of nicotine in cigarettes is hard to quantify for several reasons. However, the overall range is from 6 to 28 milligrams (mg). Typically, a single cigarette will average between 10-12 mg of nicotine. Although, that may not be the amount you actually inhale. According to healthline.com, “You’ll probably inhale about 1.1 to 1.8 mg of nicotine by the end of each cigarette.”
Vapes: How Much Nicotine?
Unlike cigarettes, the manufacturing process of e-juice makes measuring the amount of nicotine a relatively straightforward process. Typically, you can learn about the nicotine content by looking at the label, and the measurement is usually per 1 millilitre (mL) of e-juice. The standard amounts are 0, 3, 6 and 12 mg, depending on your desired amount.
